RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT – Sheridan – Christine

March 26, 2020

Christine Page was a P.E. and Health teacher for 20 years. Teaching was more than a job to her, it was her passion. In addition to teaching students about being healthy and staying active, she lived what she taught and enjoyed walking regularly. In 2016, Mrs. Page retired from her rewarding career in education and unfortunately, within the same year, was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. As time went on, frustration and confusion became increasingly prominent in her life. As difficult as it was, her husband, Mike, began looking for alternate care for her and came across Majestic Care of Sheridan. Christine was ultimately admitted and has made many improvements. She has continued to thrive and enjoy life to her fullest potential and Mike has found peace of mind in knowing she is safe, loved and cared for. Christine is often found walking the halls with a beautiful smile on her face. Though life has changed drastically for her, she continues to do what she has always loved the most and that is staying active and walking daily. The Care Team Members at Majestic Care are thankful for the opportunity to assist Christine with having the best quality of life as possible. It is always an honor to give back to someone who has spent her life giving to others.

Eva was admitted to Majestic Care of Sheridan requiring an increased need for assistance with her daily living activities. During her stay, Eva worked with Care Team Members and Reliant Rehabilitation to maximize her cognition, functional performance and safety to prepare her for a successful discharge to her new home. Eva participated in speech and occupational therapies to gain back her strength and independence. Eva also enjoyed being involved with activities. She could often be found playing BINGO or completing her crossword puzzles – all with a big grin on her face!

Our Response to COVID-19

March 12, 2020

To Our Residents and Family Members:We know some of you may be concerned about the spread of COVID-19 (the new coronavirus) being reported in the media and how it may impact us here at Majestic Care. Ensuring residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our greatest concern.

At this time, we don’t have any cases in our communities. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended a variety of steps that we have implemented to help reduce the potential for the virus to enter our communities. However, we need your help in battling COVID-19. Below are some examples of how you can help protect the residents, as well as prevent the spread throughout the community. At this time, we request that you do not visit the communities. Our top priority is keeping our residents and Care Team Members safe and we feel these measures are needed to ensure their safety. We understand that connecting with family members is incredibly important and there are a variety of other ways you might consider connecting with them. These may include telephone, email, text or through Skype or Facebook. Our Care Team Members are happy to help facilitate these alternative methods.

Our communities are following the recommendations of the CDC on prevention steps, including following strict hand-washing procedures, and in many circumstances, wearing gowns and gloves when interacting with residents who are sick. We also are staying up-to-date with the CDC recommendations as they are updated. In addition, Majestic Care is in close contact with the local and state health department and are following their guidance.

We will notify you if any residents or Care Team Members are diagnosed with COVID-19. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact our community Executive Directors. For routine updates please continue to visit our website.

Congratulations to Victoria Collier, RNA as she celebrates 20 years of service this month at our Majestic Care of Columbus community!

“I love taking care of all of my Residents, they are like family. I have been through eight takeovers and I feel this one is the ticket because Majestic Care has shown that they care about their staff as well as their residents.”
