Majestic Care

“It was excellent! Therapy helped me far exceed my personal goals and return home!” – Pam McKinney

Pam McKinney admitted to Majestic Care of Sheridan for rehabilitation after experiencing a hip fracture. Following her fracture, Pam was wheelchair bound, unable to ambulate, and required maximum assistance with self-care tasks. Pam was motivated and determined to return home, but she knew it would not be easy. Pam consulted with her nurses, therapists and husband about the skills and equipment she would need to return home safely. Throughout her stay, she worked hard in physical therapy and occupational therapy to regain her strength and independence. A home evaluation was completed with Pam, her husband and her occupational therapist to assure her safety upon her return home. Once the evaluation was completed and necessary equipment was in place, Pam continued to work with therapy to maximize her independence. After achieving her personal and therapy goals, Pam discharged home with her husband able to complete her functional mobility with a walker and her daily activities with supervision. Congratulations, Pam!

Effective today Majestic Management has entered into an arrangement with the Franciscan Ministries to acquire Saint Anthony’s Village. Saint Anthony will join 9 other locations in Indiana and Ohio that all operate under the name of Majestic Care. The organization will provide post-acute care services to approximately 1000 seniors and employ greater than 1200 Care Team Members.

“We are excited for the team at Saint Anthony to join our growing family of post-acute care communities.” states Bernie McGuinness, CEO of Majestic Management, “This community adds to the Majestic family a beautiful campus to offer Northwest Indiana a trusted provider in post-acute care.  This community provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, memory care services and assisted living. Saint Anthony is conveniently located next to the local hospital and will provide care to over 215 seniors on a daily basis. We are excited to continue the traditions of the campus while meeting the needs of the local healthcare community. We are looking forward to adding over 250 care team members to the Majestic family.  Majestic Care remains focused on our Care Team Members and are excited to keep so many talented health care providers in place. This approach will provide consistency in our care and outcomes for the residents and families.”

Joe became a resident at Majestic Care of Sheridan in 2017. Recently, Joe was noted to have stiffness, decreased range of motion and decreased strength in his left lower extremity, which made functional transfers and wheelchair mobility around the facility very difficult. Majestic Care of Sheridan and Reliant Rehabilitation initially worked with Joe 5 days a week to increase the range of motion and strength in his left leg.

Joe has worked hard with physical therapy. He has achieved maximum range of motion and strength in his left leg, resulting in increased standing tolerance and balance, making functional transfers safer and wheelchair mobility easier. Joe enjoys being able to move around the facility independently in his wheelchair again. He is currently working with physical therapy 2 days a week to maintain the function he has gained. Great job, Joe!

RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT – Connersville – Helen

September 3, 2019

Helen Fox was living at home independently with support from her son and daughter. During a trip to the grocery store with her daughter, Helen had a bout of dizziness that caused her to fall. She was transported to the hospital where she found out she had a fractured hip and needed surgery to repair it.

After surgery, the hospital recommended Helen to go to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation. Helen selected Majestic Care of Connersville for her rehab needs which included assistance for transfers, ambulation, bed mobility, toileting, dressing and bathing. She was weak in both her arms and legs, demonstrated confusion and had swallowing difficulties.

RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT – Sheridan – Robert

August 23, 2019

“My favorite part of therapy is my therapists. They have helped make me feel 100% again.”

In January, Robert began experiencing significant pain in his lower back and right knee that greatly affected his standing balance, mobility and safety. Majestic Care of Sheridan and Reliant Rehabilitation collaborated with Robert to design a customized treatment plan that specifically addressed his pain and decline in function. Robert has worked hard in physical therapy five times a week to eliminate his pain resulting in increased balance, functional mobility and participation in everyday activities. Robert enjoys being able to walk around the facility and complete his daily activities pain-free again. He is currently working with physical therapy to prevent pain and maximize his level of function. Great job Robert!

Cheryl McKinney calls Majestic Care of Avon home. She transferred to us from another facility to be closer to friends and family.  At her previous facility, she was wheelchair bound, unable to ambulate with walker, unable to complete ADLs  without extensive services and somewhat bed bound.

Within the first few days of arrival at Majestic Care of Avon, Cheryl was evaluated by Reliant Rehabilitation’s Physical Therapy Department to improve strength, mobility and decrease overall level of care. She was very motivated in improving her current condition and becoming mobile again. Physical Therapy’s main goal was to improve Cheryl’s quality of life by making her stronger in every way possible.
