Upon arrival to Majestic Care of Fort Wayne, Deb Wade was dealing with multiple medical complications. Deb was on 4 liters of oxygen, a continuous feeding tube, had decreased communication abilities, had suffered a hip fracture and was experiencing severe pain with movement.  Deb worked with Care Team Members for pain management while Speech Therapy began to work towards Deb’s ability to swallow.

Deb reached the goal of a regular diet with thin liquids and was able to stop relying on a feeding tube. Our Speech Therapy team worked with her until she was able to meet all of her goals. Deb also improved in her communication abilities and began gaining strength day-by-day.

Although, Deb is not a candidate for surgical repair for the hip fracture due to complicated factors, she was evaluated by Physical therapy for pain management. Deb is currently able to transfer with staff having little to no pain with each transfer due to the hard work and communication between all Care Team Members involved.

Majestic Care of Fort Wayne is thankful to be a part of Deb’s rehab process!
