Majestic Care

August 13, 2019

Cheryl McKinney calls Majestic Care of Avon home. She transferred to us from another facility to be closer to friends and family.  At her previous facility, she was wheelchair bound, unable to ambulate with walker, unable to complete ADLs  without extensive services and somewhat bed bound.

Within the first few days of arrival at Majestic Care of Avon, Cheryl was evaluated by Reliant Rehabilitation’s Physical Therapy Department to improve strength, mobility and decrease overall level of care. She was very motivated in improving her current condition and becoming mobile again. Physical Therapy’s main goal was to improve Cheryl’s quality of life by making her stronger in every way possible.

RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT – Sheridan – Shirlene

August 7, 2019

“I am getting stronger and stronger every day with the help of my therapists. I do well with my transfers now and am meeting my personal goals too. I feel safer with my daily activities. I enjoy standing and walking again.”  Shirlene.

Since December 2016, Shirlene has called Majestic Care of Sheridan home. In November of that year, Shirlene experienced an illness that left her weak and fatigued. As a result, she experienced reduced mobility and required total assistance with her self-care.  Majestic Care of Sheridan and Reliant Rehabilitation collaborated with Shirlene and designed a customized plan of treatment to help her gain back her strength and independence.

Ruth Avery has chosen to call Majestic Care New Haven home, and we are happy she did. She was referred to Occupational Therapy as she experienced a decline in all areas of self-care.  Ruth also required maximum assistance to complete self-feeding.

Majestic Care New Haven and Reliant Rehabilitation provided Occupational Therapy for Ruth and she was able to increase overall strength and activity tolerance.  Additional goals were added to include self-care such as dressing and toileting.

Marta was motivated in improving her current and regaining independence in her new environment. She participated in therapy 5 days a week, going above and beyond during her treatment sessions. RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT – Connersville – Richard

July 8, 2019

Richard Hughes has called Majestic Care of Connersville home since 2016. He was admitted with a medical diagnosis of hypertension and generalized muscle weakness.

Throughout the years of Richard’s stay, he has had several improvements and declines in functional mobility. Richard’s last decline was in November 2018, when he had shoulder pain and limitations that made it difficult to complete transfers, bed mobility, ambulation and ADLs.

Congratulations to Amy Douglas, LPN as she celebrates 20 years of service this month at our Majestic Care of at North Vernon community!

“My passion for LTC stems from the opportunity it gives you to make a difference in the life of your residents. It allows you to really get to know your residents and their families, and form long lasting relationships with them. It’s nice to run into a family member of a previous patient from years ago and the family member hugs you.”

– Amy Douglas, LPN

What Lies Ahead in 2019

January 15, 2019

When we launched Majestic Care, we aimed to transform the current model of skilled care for our residents and those who work for them. With a commitment to providing warm, caring, positive, and supportive environments, our focus was to raise the experience not only for those who trust us with their health care needs but also for our Care Team members.

We challenged ourselves to not flow with the status quo and solicited feedback from residents and Care Team members. While it wasn’t always easy to hear, these critical conversations enabled us to identify opportunities for us to change our culture.
