Lori Good is a long-term care resident who started on therapy for increased difficulty with chewing and swallowing foods along with right shoulder pain and limited ambulation through our facility due to pain to shoulder area. Lori participated in Occupational therapy for pain management along with UB strengthening to increase her independence. Lori is no longer having pain to her shoulder and is now ambulating through out our facility with an RW independently. Lori is about to discharge from Occupational therapy with the ability to ambulate in room with no assistive device and pain free to her shoulder area!
Lori worked with Speech therapy on improving her swallowing ability and chewing to maximize her independence with self-feeding. Lori is now able to enjoy her meals and maintain her weight while on a mechanically altered diet. Congratulations Lori on making great strides toward improving your independence with ambulation and improving your swallowing!
