Cheryl McKinney calls Majestic Care of Avon home. She transferred to us from another facility to be closer to friends and family. At her previous facility, she was wheelchair bound, unable to ambulate with walker, unable to complete ADLs without extensive services and somewhat bed bound.
Within the first few days of arrival at Majestic Care of Avon, Cheryl was evaluated by Reliant Rehabilitation’s Physical Therapy Department to improve strength, mobility and decrease overall level of care. She was very motivated in improving her current condition and becoming mobile again. Physical Therapy’s main goal was to improve Cheryl’s quality of life by making her stronger in every way possible.
Cheryl has participated in therapy services here at Majestic Care of Avon 5 days a week since her arrival. She has surpassed therapy’s goal, as well as her own. Not only is Cheryl not bed bound anymore, she is able to ambulate short distances with a rolling walker and use other assistive devices that she hadn’t been able to use in over a year!
Cheryl continues to improve her mobility each therapy session and loves to walk. “Therapy has really brought my spirits up. It has done a lot for me. Without therapy I would be bedridden.”
