INDIANAPOLIS, IN (November 1, 2025) — Majestic Care, an affiliate of Marx Development Group, announced today it has officially assumed operations of four state-owned long-term care facilities in West Virginia: Hopemont Hospital (Preston County), Jackie Withrow Hospital (Raleigh County), John Manchin Sr. Health Care Center (Marion County), and Lakin Hospital (Mason County).

The transition, effective November 1, follows a competitive state-led process to ensure continued access to skilled nursing care across West Virginia. The change in operations guarantees uninterrupted services for residents and staff while paving the way for new investment in facility modernization, workforce development, and enhanced resident care.

“We’re honored to welcome these West Virginia communities and the dedicated Care Team members who serve within them to the Majestic Care family,” said Paul Pruitt, Chief Executive Officer of Majestic Care. “Our focus is on people and ensuring residents continue to receive the highest quality care and that our care team members have the support, resources, and respect they deserve. This isn’t just about expanding our footprint; it’s about strengthening access to compassionate, quality care in communities that need it most.”

Pruitt added that the company’s decision to invest in West Virginia stems from the state’s growing need for long-term care and the opportunity to bring new resources, expertise, and energy to facilities that play a vital role in their local communities.

Majestic Care’s commitment includes a multi-year capital reinvestment plan focused on infrastructure upgrades, technology enhancements, and staff training. All current employees have been offered continued employment with benefits and professional development opportunities, ensuring continuity for residents and stability for staff.

Throughout the transition, Majestic Care has worked closely with state officials to maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations – including those governing specialized or justice-involved populations – and to ensure that every resident is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

“West Virginia chose us for our experience, stability, and willingness to reinvest locally,” Pruitt said. “We intend to be a trusted, long-term partner to residents, families, and care team members across the state.”
