At Majestic Care, we believe that exceptional care begins with exceptional leadership. That belief is at the heart of our Administrator-in-Training (AIT) Program—an experience designed not only to prepare individuals for licensure, but to truly prepare them to lead.
This program was created with a clear purpose: to develop future licensed administrators through a balance of structured learning and real-world application. While licensure is an important milestone, our focus goes far beyond passing boards. We are building leaders who are equipped to guide teams, make informed decisions, and create meaningful impact within our communities.
A Vision Rooted in Leadership Development
The foundation of our AIT program was strengthened through the leadership and partnership of Jerald Cosey, a seasoned healthcare executive and passionate leadership coach. From the beginning, his vision helped shape a program that goes beyond traditional training models by focusing on purpose-driven leadership. By integrating behavioral insights, trust-building, and communication strategies, Jerald helped create a framework where future administrators grow not only in knowledge, but in confidence and character. His influence continues to guide the program’s direction, ensuring it remains focused on developing leaders who inspire teams and elevate the standard of care.
A Cohort Experience Built on Growth and Connection
Our AIT program is designed as a cohort-based experience, allowing participants to grow together, learn from one another, and build lasting professional relationships. Our inaugural cohort includes Christian Brummett, Abigail Morgan, David Frey, and Darren Spitzley—each bringing unique strengths, perspectives, and a shared commitment to leadership.
Through collaboration and shared experiences, these emerging leaders are not only gaining knowledge but also developing the confidence and support systems that will carry them forward in their careers.
Leadership Development at the Core
What sets this program apart is its intentional focus on leadership development alongside licensure readiness. Participants are immersed in key areas essential to successful administration, including:
- Effective communication
- Decision-making and accountability
- Financial and census awareness
- Building trust and engagement within teams
These are the skills that define strong leaders—and they are cultivated through both guided learning and hands-on experience.
Strengthening the Traditional Model
It’s important to emphasize that this program does not replace the traditional AIT/preceptor model—it strengthens it. The preceptor relationship remains the foundation of the experience, providing invaluable day-to-day mentorship and real-time learning opportunities.
Our program enhances this foundation by adding structure, expanded content, and additional support to ensure each AIT has the tools they need to succeed.
The Power of Mentorship and Operational Support
Preceptors and operational leaders play a vital role in the success of this program. Their guidance, experience, and investment in each AIT are key drivers of growth and development. By combining mentorship with organizational support, we are creating an environment where future leaders can thrive.
Structured, Practical, and Purpose-Driven
The AIT program is thoughtfully designed to be both structured and practical. It includes:
• Virtual training sessions
• Facility-based rotations
• Ongoing mentorship
• Real-time leadership application
This approach ensures that learning is not only theoretical but immediately applicable—reinforcing confidence and competence in real-world settings.
Investing in the Future
This program reflects Majestic Care’s ongoing commitment to developing leaders from within and strengthening leadership across our communities. Each AIT role is a full-time, paid opportunity, underscoring our investment in both the individual and the future of our organization.
As our first cohort continues to grow and succeed, we are already preparing for the next class—building on what we’ve learned and continuing to enhance the program for future participants.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate the progress of our inaugural cohort, we also look forward to highlighting the relationships that make this program so impactful—including the partnerships between AITs and their preceptors.
Because at the end of the day, leadership is more than a title—it’s a responsibility, a mindset, and a commitment to others.
Leadership is modeled, not managed. Model the behavior. Magnify the impact.
