This summer, Majestic Care had the pleasure of welcoming Robert Russell Jr. as part of our internship program. Robert brought a fresh perspective and an eagerness to learn, leaving a lasting impression on our team and residents alike.

Robert is currently a second-year student at California State University of Sacramento, studying film with a focus on directing. His ultimate goal is to become a big-budget filmmaker, working behind the camera to bring stories to life. “There is so much to movies that people don’t often realize,” Robert shared. “My mission is to learn as much as I can so I can create films at my full potential.”

Although healthcare and filmmaking may seem like very different fields, Robert found valuable lessons during his internship at Majestic Care. “This internship showed me that in order for long-term care to be successful, you have to care,” he said. “Caring comes first, and then the time and effort follow. That’s what makes a difference.”

Robert described his time with us as a memorable learning experience where every day was different. “I walked in each day expecting something new, which taught me how to adapt,” he explained. “That’s something I’ll carry with me in my career.” He also praised the culture at Majestic Care, calling it a “family.” “Everyone here is polite, caring, and respectful. The way the team works together is why Majestic Care continues to grow.”

As for advice to future interns, Robert encourages others to embrace the opportunity: “Come in with an open mind. Be prepared to ask questions, and take what you learn from the team to apply to your own work.” We are so grateful for Robert’s time with us and wish him the very best as he continues his journey toward a successful career in filmmaking!
