Paul May was living at home with his wife Betty when he had an overall decline in his health and functional mobility. He struggled with heart problems, chronic kidney disease and Parkinson’s disease. Paul received a pacemaker lost all strength leaving him the inability to perform functional mobility and ADLs.

When Paul admitted to Majestic Care of Connersville, he was unable to ambulate and required maximum assistance for bed mobility, transfers, bathing, grooming and dressing. Paul’s cognition had also taken a decline.

The Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy team all worked with Paul for several months. Paul and the therapist set short and long-term goals to improve his strength and functional mobility. His ultimate goal and wish was to return home with his wife Betty.

Paul’s dedication and motivation along with the services provided by therapy, made his wish come true and he went homejust in time for his 90th birthday. Paul improved in all areas making him able to return home with some assistance from his wife. Paul was thankful for Majestic Care of Connersville and the therapy team for providing him with services that gave him the ability to return home. He was all smiles when he walked out of the facility independently and waved goodbye to the staff. Majestic Care of Connersville would like to thank Paul for letting us be a part of his success. We are proud of you Paul!
