We’re excited to share Vicki Dixon’s story. Vicki had several falls at home prior to being hospitalized. Once at the hospital, she was admitted and diagnosed with sepsis of bilateral lower extremities. After Vicki was released from the hospital, she came to Majestic Care of Connersville for inpatient rehabilitation. Vicki lost strength in her lower body causing her to require maximum assist for transfers and gait. She also lost her upper body strength and declined in all ADLs. Vicki admitted to the facility with high hopes that she would regain her strength and return home at her prior level of function.

Majestic Care of Connersville’s therapy team worked with Vicki on setting goals that would increase her independence and get her back into the community. Vicki worked hard and was able to meet her goals giving her the opportunity to return home with her husband. After being at Majestic Care of Connersville for seven weeks, on December 17th, 2020, she was able to discharge home with the ability to complete bed mobility, transfers, and ambulation with modified independence. She also met her goals in all ADLs, progressing her to modified independence in dressing, bathing, and hygiene.

Majestic Care of Connersville and Reliant Rehabilitation would like to thank Vicki for letting us be a part of her recovery. Her dedication to therapy, along with her motivation, determination, and compliance with skilled therapy treatment, helped her progress towards her goals and return home. Vicki, who was at the facility for inpatient rehabilitation in 2019, stated that she “can always count on the staff at Majestic Care to get her stronger and back home.”
