March is Social Work Month, and we are honored to spotlight Ashley Brunthaver, our dedicated Social Services Director! With 22 years of experience in healthcare, Ashley has devoted her career to advocating for residents and ensuring they receive the support and care they deserve. Her journey in healthcare began at just 16 years old when she started as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA). She continued to expand her expertise by attending Terra Community College and vocational school, where she became a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Her passion for healthcare has never wavered—she has spent her entire career in the field, dedicating herself to serving others.

When asked why she chose this path, Ashley shares, “I love being able to work with patients and their families one-on-one, giving them the undivided attention they deserve. It’s also incredibly rewarding to advocate for them and ensure their needs—both basic and complex—are met.”

Ashley’s passion for working with the elderly stems from her deep sense of compassion. “What sparked my passion is the opportunity to provide love and care to those who may not have someone looking after them. Every person deserves to be treated with respect, and I take pride in giving our residents the kindness and dignity they deserve.” Like many in healthcare, Ashley has faced challenges, but her motivation remains strong. “Focusing on patient care and fostering a supportive team environment keeps me going. Feeling appreciated and knowing that my hard work makes a difference is incredibly rewarding.”

For Ashley, the most fulfilling part of her role is the ability to make a positive impact. “Whether it’s something big or small, knowing that I’ve helped someone in a meaningful way is what makes this work so special. Building strong, empathetic relationships with our residents and their families is truly the most rewarding part of my job.” Ashley’s dedication and advocacy make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve. We are grateful for her compassion, commitment, and the positive impact she brings to our community every day.
