Majestic Care is excited to highlight our outstanding Social Work team! Meet Casey Wylie-Knight from Majestic Care of Toledo!
Name: Casey Wylie-Knight, MSW, BSW (University of Michigan and Western Michigan University Schools of Social Work, because it’s the best!)
Years of Experience: 17 years… wow it has gone so fast! 😊
What has ‘empowered’ you to become a social worker?: One person. One social worker. She was there for me when I had absolutely no one and nothing. I have never forgotten her kindness. When I went to college, I knew that if I could save just one person, just one, then what I went through was worth it. Everyone deserves kindness. Everyone.
As we celebrate Social Work Month, what message or advice would you like to share with the community about the importance of social work in long-term care?: TRUST what we are sharing with you. While this may be your ONE-person, or self, Social Workers to this every day. WE are here to HELP you with whatever path you are on. Might be hospice, might be long-term care, might be discharge home with a new normal… We do this with our whole heart. We know it is scary. We know it is a lot of information to learn in a short time. We will get you through it with knowledge and kindness.
