Years of Experience: Only a couple of months in this role. Had been a CNA in LTC since 2017. With majestic since 2019.
What has ‘empowered’ you to become a social worker?: Being a voice for my residents when they are unable to do so, while maintaining their quality of life is so important to me. Also when getting to discharge a resident back home with their families or into the community is such a rewarding feeling. These residents are what empowered me to be a social worker.
As we celebrate Social Work Month, what message or advice would you like to share with the community about the importance of social work in long-term care?: “Be someone who makes someone else look forward to tomorrow” 🙂
