Majestic Care of Connersville is excited to share resident Betty Foley’s Success Story!
Betty was referred by IU Hospital in Indianapolis, and admitted to Majestic Care of Connersville after an unresponsive episode at another facility. Three months before nursing home admission, she went to the ER with left-sided weakness, where a clot in the back of her neck was discovered. She became unresponsive at the hospital and was placed on a ventilator to help her breathe. A new clot was found on top of her brain.
When she was admitted, she was unable to walk or transfer, required assistance for bed mobility, and needed better standing balance.
Betty and the therapy team set goals to increase her independence to get her back in the community. After several months of therapy and three hospital stays, she worked hard to achieve her dream of returning home with her family! She could walk with a rolling walker 15 feet and complete transfers with minimal assistance from caregivers. She was also eating and drinking foods of her choice. On April 24th, she was discharged back home with family. Betty said, “I came to Majestic in January unable to do anything physical, but Nick, Aaron, and Ben helped me walk and talk. I am so grateful, and because of them, I can go home.” Congratulations to Betty and her Care Team on their success!
